Almost every homeowner can include a pond or water feature in their garden. In new build homes space can some times be limited, however, a patio or even a conservatory can accommodate a spouting garden ornament or a pebble pool or miniature waterfall. Smaller water features also make excellent ‘child-safe’ options for younger home owners.
Metal, glass, stainless steal, canvas and mirrors are used in garden design as much as flowers, shrubs and trees. Water however adds a special dimension and we make full use of its potential to create stunning ponds and amazing effects in your very own garden landscape. Here are some water features we are able to supply and fit for you in Teesside, North east. We think you'll agree they are stunning.
Planning
Building a pond or water feature, however small, involves both cash and effort. This is why it is always best to discuss your plans thoroughly with one of our professionals. We can help you make to correct choice for your budget, wants and needs.
The last thing we want you to do is decide part way through your project that you've been over-ambitious, it might prove to be difficult and expensive to undo what you have already done . A precise plan by the experts is the best way forward. Let us do all the hard work for you. We will help you make all the major decisions before rushing headlong into your project.
Creating a beautiful water feature in your garden is well worth the effort. Not very many of us will have a natural stream or spring just waiting to be landscaped into a pond or water feature: most of us will have to start from scratch.
Water features

Ponds, waterfalls, pools, informal ponds, formal ponds all promote relaxation and stimulate positive vibes.
Water features look and sound beautiful, they create a wonderful environment to relax in with our families and friends. Whether your water feature is a formal raised pond on the patio, a wildlife pool at the foot of the garden, a bubbling cobble fountain or a rocky waterfall, a water feature is guaranteed to add another wonderful dimension of enjoyment to your landscaped garden.
From a design point of view water is an amazing surface to use, since it varies constantly. A still sheet of water gives a peaceful air to the garden and provides mirror images of the changing sky. Breezes stir the surface of the pool and the whole pictures changes. Moving water gives varying patterns and colours as sunlight plays upon it, as well as introducing sound. From a slow steady drip to a roaring torrent from a fountain waterfall, the possibilities of creating sounds with water features are endless.
Choosing a style
The most important thing to do before any earth is turned is to sit down and think why you want a water feature, the style you want, where you want it and the shape and size. Once you have an idea clearly in your mind, go ahead and create the water feature you want.

The style and shape of your water feature will very much be determined by the size and shape of your existing garden or new garden landscape design. The water feature you choose should ideally reflect the style of the garden landscape you already have, or are going to landscape.
You are attempting to enhance your garden's over all look and feel, you are not introducing a new element that will stand out like a sore thumb for all the wrong reasons.
A symmetrical pool as a water feature can really add to the austere serenity of a formal garden landscape while an asymmetric pool water feature will enhance an informal design. Interlinking circles, single large rectangle, small pools linked by streams: it is up to you. As long as the water feature you choose suits the garden landscape and is safe, the only limit to its design is your imagination.
Modern pond equipment makes replicating natural water falls or patterns possible. We can create replica natural forms of water in the garden, from a crashing waterfall to a gently bubbling spring.
When you choose your water feature always make sure the water feature blends with the rest of your garden, if in doubt ask our advice, we are more than happy to help you make the right decision for your garden. We would strongly advise that you always bring together a collection of coherent forms of water feature which will fit comfortably into your existing landscaped garden, otherwise the overall effect and look will seem contrived and you may go off it quickly.
Ponds as water features
A formal pond
A formal pond as a water feature is often the ideal option for a small garden where there is little or no lawn and the surface is limited by paving. A formal pool has a clearly defined, crisp edge, which is generally paved and forms regular, geometric shapes. The planting is restrained, confined and is mainly in aquatic planting containers, and dominated by specimen plants that have bold upright leaves, such as irises, which create a strong vertical contrast to the even, horizontal surface of the water feature.

An informal pond
The priority in planning an informal pond is to blend it into your existing garden landscape, whether it is an existing garden or a new creation be careful, always consider everything and plan the details carefully. This type of pond would have a stronger appeal to the plant person, offering considerable scope for the lush planting that may not be possible in the other parts of the garden. The boundaries of the pond could be extended to a bog area, allowing space for this to happen at the planning and designing stage is essential.
Raised ponds
Raised ponds are similar to formal ponds in their suitability for small spaces and are often surrounded by paving. For small or patio gardens surrounded by high fences or walls, they introduce reflected light to counteract any feeling of claustrophobia. One of the great pleasures of a raised pond as a water feature is that you are able to sit on the pool surround and enjoy the water close to you. Raised ponds combined with a fountain are very suitable for fish, the fountain spray oxygenates the water in the summer months.
