What sealing a driveway or patio entails
Sealing a block paved driveway or patio has many benefits over and above making it look great. A good quality sealant will protect and secure your patios, driveways or paving from the elements this, in turn, helps to reduce wear and tear of your paved areas.
Block paving and patios are expensive, therefore sealing them is a sensible thing to do. You are protecting your investment. Sealants can protect your paving from stains such as oil leaks from your car, help to prevent algae and weeds from growing in-between the blocks or patio flags, can preserve the colour of your paving and reduce wear and tear.
Cleaning and sealing a driveway will involve using a pressure washer/jet washer which will remove weeds, algae and stains. Once your driveway is completely clean and dry any joints are refilled with kiln-dried sand. Excess sand is brushed away from the surface. Then the driveway or patio sealer is applied using a brush, roller or a squeegee.
