Decking Project in Stockton

This decking project was constructed from soft grooved deck boards. This garden was landscaped for a lovely couple, Mr & Mrs Clark in Ingleby Barwick, Stockton-on-Tees, Teesside.

Charlotte and Dan decided they wanted a very plain, child friendly, landscaping project for their garden. They asked us to install a standard decking area in their garden. A space where they could sit and relax, and where their children were safe and could play.

Green Onion Landscaping began this project by digging out the ground area and constructing a wooden deck frame. The deck frame is made from wooden joists and posts and held together with screws. Once the frame for the decked area was constructed, we lifted it in to place. It was fitted to the decking posts which were concreted into the ground. Once the frame was firmly attached to the posts we began to screw the deck boards onto the frame. All of the boards were carefully cut to size and shape. Each board was fitted one by one and screwed firmly to the frame. The decking was completed by adding a wooden fascia. The fascia hides the frame and the ends of the cut boards, it makes the completed project look smarter with a more professional finish.

The decked area was made square, this was chosen because it best utilised the surface area and the family wanted it this shape.

Green Onion Landscaping also constructed a new pathway from Rippon sandstone paving stones, this new path leads from the decked area and the garden gate. The pathway gives a difference of textures and colours next to the beautiful decking area.

Green Onion Landscaping also ‘double boarded’ the existing fence with 4 inch fencing boards to cover the existing gaps in the fence. A cutting edging was also laid around the perimeter of the lawn to make it easier to mow.

This was a very straight forward, simple, landscaping project.
