Green Onion Landscaping create an award-winning hard and soft garden landscape design in Stockton-on-Tees

After carrying out a brick match for Ali and Andy’s property our landscape design began to be created.  Green Onion Landscaping’s team built a new brick wall around the front of the house with pillars linked by wrought iron railings. We had the railings and the gates made by a local ironmonger, they are stunning quality. The new railings were built into the brick wall.

Green Onion Landscaping constructed larger brick pillars on either side of the block paved driveway entrance. These were to hang their new wrought iron gates on. Andy and Ali’s house is an end house. We felt it was a better idea to have more secure gates for their property. Also, large iron gates give a grand and more private feel to any property.

Green Onion Landscaping block paved the path around the whole of the property using brindle block paving with flowing charcoal block paved edge. The block paved areas were laid in a 90-degree herringbone pattern, which is a traditional block paving pattern. The large driveway was also block paved using the same herringbone design in the same colour paving blocks as the paths.

We shaped the block paving at the front of the property to incorporate a flowing curve, which allowed Green Onion Landscaping to create a more interesting shape to the newly turfed lawn.

Square turf lawns in a garden landscape always look dull and sterile. Green Onion Landscaping would always recommend giving curvaceous shape to newly laid turf lawns where ever possible. New turf was also supplied and laid at the side and rear of the property.

Green Onion Landscaping constructed a connecting decking area from the block paved driveway to the rear garden. This decking area incorporated handrails and steps. This broke up the hard feel of the block paving and gave a more interesting look and feel to the overall landscape design of the garden. The decked area also stood out as a feature of the newly designed and landscaped garden.

Andy and Ali asked Green Onion Landscaping to help them accessorise their completed hard landscaping project with soft landscaping. We provided pots and hanging baskets. Green Onion Landscaping has a great knowledge of flowers, shrubs, and plants. There’s nothing better than seeing a completed hard landscape dressed with the correct soft landscaping features. Plants bring a garden to life. We came up with some stunning planting and colour ideas for Andy and Ali.

Green Onion Landscaping designed various feature areas for Andy’s plants and pots ad an area where he could grow his vegetables. Hanging basket brackets were fixed on the outer walls in various places around the property. The Green Onion team also built several small feature areas in the front lawn for bedding plants and shrubs to bring colour and texture to the garden.

When Andy & Ali’s landscaping project was completed, we were all happy with the end result. It was a total transformation of their previous shabby looking garden.  We regularly pop past Andy and Ali’s as they change their flower displays each season. They are keen gardeners and like to keep their garden looking beautiful and colourful. Their garden landscape is a superb example of a beautifully landscaped garden. Green Onion Landscaping is very proud of this landscaped garden. It was a delight to hear that Andy and Ali’s garden had won a garden competition they had entered.

“Dear Andy,

My husband and I wanted to thank  Green Onion landscaping for doing a fantastic job of our block paved drive, lawn, decking, garden pots, and hanging baskets. We are so happy. We can’t believe how different and beautiful everything looks. You and your team worked closely with us every step of the way and we appreciate that.

Since the job was completed, our garden looked so impressive we were actually entered into a local best garden competition and we won!

Thank you once again for all your time and commitment.”
