At Green Onion Landscaping, we create planting schemes that bring gardens of every size to life. From refreshing a single border to designing a full landscape plan, our soft landscaping services are tailored to your style, space and budget. Soft landscaping is the living part of your garden, the trees, shrubs, flowers and lawns that give colour, texture and year-round interest. With over 30 years of horticultural experience, our team knows how to select the right plants to suit your garden conditions and create a design that feels like a natural extension of your home.

Initial Planting Design Visit – £250

Your first consultation costs £250 (covering up to one hour, anywhere in Stockton, Middlesbrough, Darlington, County Durham or the North East).

During this visit, we:

• Discuss the planting style and atmosphere you would like to achieve

• Take garden measurements and check soil quality

• Review any ideas or inspiration you have collected

• Offer expert advice on design possibilities

This fee covers our professional time and knowledge. Written plans are not included at this stage.

👉 If tree planting involves a Tree Preservation Order (TPO), we can also liaise with nurseries and your local authority to ensure legal compliance. This is also a chargeable service at £250

Planting Plan & Follow-Up Consultations

A detailed planting plan is available for £15 per m² of the area to be designed.
For example: a 50m² border = £750.

• This cost is in addition to the consultation fee

• Fees must be paid in advance

• Once received, we prepare your personalised design, complete with plant choices that suit your soil, garden style and long-term vision

Additional design consultations are charged at £100 per hour.

The final cost of your soft landscaping will depend on the size of the area to be planted, the number and size of shrubs, trees and plants chosen, whether you prefer instant impact with larger, mature plants or gradual growth with younger stock, and any additional consultations required.

Larger plants cost more but instantly create a striking effect. Whatever your choice, we will guide you to get the best results within your budget.
